Two Truths and a Lie

Despite the heat and awkward freshman status, today was an excellent day.

I woke up at 11:30AM, the latest so far here at SU. Today was also my laundry day, which I handled like a pro. My dresser is filled with clean clothes for the first day of school.

My introductory course to communications, COM 100, started today. The meeting was scheduled so we could meet our faculty advisor and other students within Newhouse. The majority of people in the meeting were Digital Broadcasting majors, however there was one other Advertising major that I forgot about until now (3 hours later).

My faculty advisor is the chair of the Magazine department. She is spunky and witty. Her sentences always end in an uncertain interrogative tone.

Our group of 20 Newhouse students played "Two Truths and a Lie." For those of you that know me, you can pick out the lie pretty easily. For those of you that do not know me, take a guess which one is a lie:

-I played the dentist in my high school performance of "Little Shop of Horrors."
-My favorite food is enchiladas.
-I was the saxophone section leader in my high school marching band.

Easy, right?

OH! Cool thing about COM 100. My faculty advisor is taking everyone out to eat at an enchilada joint (yep, that's my fave) on October 4th. After that, she's taking us to a musical, Stephen Sondheim's "Assassins." I simply cannot wait for that day.

After COM 100, I did some more current event research for COM 107 tomorrow because our professor is testing us on our knowledge of worldly events. I always feel really cool reading the newspaper in the dining hall.

My schedule

I also tried to find all my classrooms. I have four classes tomorrow, and I found one classroom. Bummer. On a brighter note, I know where all the buildings are on campus. The Hall of Languages is beautiful!

Off to the dining hall and then I have a floor meeting tonight. I've seen a lot of cool posts about Rock the Bells on FaceBook! Bay Area, you are the best.
