Getting in Touch

In Spanish class, my professor told us that one of her first students perished in the World Trade Center eleven years ago. It was the first day of her internship and she got there half an hour early to make positive first impressions on her boss and co-workers.

I remember that I was in second grade getting ready for school when the planes crashed. I was confused and frightened, but mostly I didn't wholly understand what was going on. As a young adult, I can now reflect on the day and feel pain for the victims and their families. I sat in Hendricks Chapel by myself for an hour, alone with my thoughts. Today was a solemn day on campus.

A tribute to the fallen.

On a brighter note, I was able to Skype a lot of my friends and family. Don't worry I'm not homesick, but seeing familiar faces really brightens my day. They make me incredibly happy.
