Orange vs. Wildcats

It was Saturday, September 1st, at noon and the Carrier Dome held 37,830 screaming people of all ages. Finally! My first college football game! All the hard work I put in to memorizing class cheers, football players, and the alma mater would finally be put to good use.

The student section is a sea of orange

I ended up standing right next to the band (obviously) which had a surprising amount of baritones. Once a band nerd, always a band nerd. You may wonder, "Erin, why the heck aren't you in marching band?" The answer is simple. I experienced marching band in high school and as much as I loved it, that phase is over. Also, SU is known for their basketball team so I fully intend on playing in the Sour Sitrus Society Pep Band once spring rolls around.

200 in the marching band

One of 3 drum majors

According to some sophomores, the football team played well. We lost 41-42 after we fought a 22 point deficit. Even though we weren't victorious, the Carrier Dome experience was a total win. The screaming fans, the pounding on the bleachers, the loud band, "Don't Stop Believing" blasting on the sound system... it all gave me goosebumps.

Just a taste of the excitement

I'm supposed to be at the dining hall in two minutes. Talk to you soon.
