The Best Nights/Mornings

The rainy weather sure put a damper on all the party goers. While I was at dinner with Nimish and James, we watched people run up and down the street with garbage bag ponchos. They were being battered with sideways rain and relentless wind. We chuckled from the inside of Ernie Davis.

I kicked off my Friday night by going to the gym with James to "pump mad iron and get big." We hit the elliptical machines and all of the muscle builders. Let me just say that rowing machines are my favorite things to use.

When I got back to the 4th floor of DellPlain (which is right across the breezeway from the gym), I saw half of my floor in the lounge through window of the closed door. When I opened the door, a fat wave of sound coming from Vihang's new subwoofer hit me as hard as the wind outside. Several people were dancing on the tables and before I could say anything Vihang pulled me up and we danced-danced like it was the last-last night of our lives. I love my floor.

Through some networking via text messaging, I got Johnny, Daisy, Jay, Wendy, and James together to watch "Donnie Darko." It was a night full of popcorn, Chex Mix, Pringles, laughs, and mind-blowing. WOW, such a great movie to watch with friends. The rain had stopped so after the movie we all ran to the main quad to play Frisbee with my light-up Aerobie. We launched that neon saucer around in our PJs and flip flops as we slipped around on the wet grass. We witnessed some post-party goers and discussed amongst ourselves why go to a lame booze fest when you can chill with each other and watch crazy movies and play Frisbee? We headed back to DellPlain and watched another movie, "A Knight's Tale" which I'm pretty sure I slept through a good 70% of.

THESE ARE THE PEOPLE I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR. These are the artsy, adventurous, level-headed people that I mesh with so well. I mean, everyone I've met has a really special thing about them that defines them and I enjoy everyone I've come in contact with. But there are those select few people that you just GET. I GET these folks and I could chill with them and talk to them about anything. That was my Friday night. Jealous?

I went to bed at 4:30AM again, only to be woken up at 9:30 by the blaring fire alarm and a computerized voice telling everyone in DellPlain to head for the stairs. I nearly fell out of bed as two thoughts ran through my head:

1.) Where's my roommate?! Oh, she's right there.
2.) I can blog about this.

Vivian and I along with everyone from DellPlain stood across the street in our PJs, shivering in the morning breeze (except for the fully clothed hipsters) waiting for the alarms to stop. We were sure it was a drill until two fire trucks came screaming around the corner and fire fighters rushed into the building with hoses and axes.

Me: "Why do they have axes?"
Jay: "Just in case they run into vampires."

I haven't found out what the whole thing was all about, but there was no real fire. I think someone burned some toast or something.

After a 3 hour nap, I'm up and ready to start my day!
